Discover the Sierra de las Nieves National Park

The Sierra de las Nieves National Park is located in the heart of the province of Malaga, it is a unique space of great landscape value and with great contrasts.

In it, we can find peaks almost 2,000m high next to the deepest abyss in Andalusia -GESM- with 1,101 m depth. For this reason, it is a paradise for lovers of the mountains and speleology.

Its relief is a clear example of karstic modeling and hides one of the most complex labyrinths of caves and galleries in Andalusia.

Of great botanical richness, with up to 1,500 types of plants, the main protagonist is the pinsapo , a Mediterranean fir relic from the ice age of the peninsula. As we descend we also find holm oaks, cork oaks, carob trees and chestnut trees.

The animal emblem of this protected area is the mountain goat, but it is also home to a multitude of bird species such as the golden eagle, the Bonelli's eagle, the eagle owl, the goshawk or the sparrowhawk. Other species of interest such as the roe deer or the otter are present in its rivers.

If we add to all this white villages that have not lost their identity with a rich historical heritage and traditional cuisine, we are above all a paradise that can be discovered on many routes on foot, on horseback or by bicycle.
